Did your life seem to be following a certain pattern: a humble beginning, early growing pains, the good years, retirement or approaching retirement? Did your life, however, suddenly get interrupted by a hardship, even misery, that changed everything? Did your former happiness disappear? Was it hard to get back? Do you know that the Lord allows such times to touch us in order that he might lead us into greater joy as we call upon him by faith for help? The greater joy is this: that we believe in Jesus, who came into the world to save us from the misery of sin, death, and the devil, and bring us into his kingdom of pure heavenly joy.
