Pastor Daniel Ruiz was born October 11th, 1989, in Naples, FL, to Cuban parents. He was baptized at a local Lutheran church the following year. Through family friends, his family was invited to Our Savior Lutheran Church and soon became members. As a young boy, he had wanted to be a doctor or to join the military. However, during his high school years, his pastor preached the Gospel so beautifully that it changed the course of his future, and through much prayer and discussion, he decided to pursue becoming a pastor.
In 2008, he began attending Bethany Lutheran College in Mankato, MN. It was here that he met his future wife, Katie. In 2012, Katie graduated from BLC with a B.A. in Elementary Education, and Pastor Ruiz graduated with a B.A. in Sociology. They were married that summer, and in the fall, Pastor Ruiz was accepted into Bethany Lutheran Theological Seminary.
In 2015, he was assigned to be a vicar at Hope Lutheran Church in Leander, Texas, and the following year he was called back to be an Associate Pastor. In 2019, Pastor Ruiz received a call to Faith Lutheran Church in San Antonio, Texas. Here he has continued to preach and teach the Gospel.
