“At All Times Hold Up
The Shield of Faith.”
Eph. 6:16

The Transfiguration of Jesus

God is a spirit being, yet he has a face. “His face” is one of holiness, kindness, and love for his mankind. This is what mankind should see and rejoice! But in the sin of Adam and Eve, this is not what we see. When see God’s face, we see our own destruction. He is holy and we are not. To save us from destruction, God the Father sent his glorious Son into the world in human form, born of the Virgin Mary, Jesus Christ. Jesus looked like any thirty year old Jewish man, yet he was also glorious God, holy, kind, and loving of mankind, despite its sin. He came to hide his glory and suffer on the cross to take away our sins, and then after dying, rise again from death. He did this that we might be able to stand before God’s face, live and rejoice! You are invited to read the sermon on this topic, “The Face of Salvation and Glory” based on Matthew 17:1-9.
