Water is a creation of God for the purpose of sustaining life on earth. God also has made use of water through the history of the world, bringing judgment to unbelievers and salvation to believers, such as the flood at Noah’s time. One day, Jesus Christ, The Word of God made flesh, stepped into the waters of the River Jordan to be baptized by John for the salvation of all. In this, we can accurately say, “What a most wonderful, living giving use of water.” Jesus has made it so. He was baptized to wash the whole human world clean of sin. You are invited to read the sermon on this topic, “The Word of God in The Water,” based on Matthew 3:13-17.
