Leave Worthless, Superficial Things

The sinful human race is superficial. We look at the surface of things and attach ourselves to mere appearances. How superficial, how worthless, how sinful! Jesus Christ came to save us from our sins and nothing he did was superficial. He came to meet our deep need: our need to be forgiven of our sins and saved from death. He did so with a miracle that no one with their eyes could perceive: his death on a cross to forgive our sins. His death achieved its purpose, as his resurrection from the dead proves. So let us leave our superficial, worthless clinging to mere appearances and confess him as our living God who is beyond our reason and understanding and preach him to save the sinful, superficial world around us.  Come and hear this sermon based on Acts 14:8-18
