Reconciliation is, really, the central theme of the Bible. In the sin of Adam, mankind became estranged from God. God is the only one with power to reconcile us to himself again. This he did by sending his eternal Son in sinless human form, Jesus Christ, to make the payment to win our reconciliation, whatever our sins are. He made this payment in the form of an offering laid at the altar of God, the criminal’s cross. So, quickly, be reconciled to God and your neighbor. Jesus has done it.
