“Lord, teach us how to pray!” That’s what the disciples asked of Jesus. Jesus is the right person to ask. He is God’s Son, in sinless human form, who in perfect love and devotion raised his prayers to his Father on our behalf, as he labored to save us from sin. Save us he did, taking away our sins, even as he prayed, “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.” His perfect prayer life is also a model for our own. He teaches us what to pray and how to pray, all by faith in his name! Amen.
