The Lord, speaking through King David in Psalm 14, said of the human race, “There is no one who does good, not even one.” These words apply not only to terrorists, murderers and other heinous criminals in the world. These words apply to every one of us, and just as much. Not one of us does good, not in our sinful nature. After all, nothing good lives in our sinful nature. It is this lack of human goodness which violently troubles the world. We look out on the world and say, “Who does any good? I can’t find anyone who does.” We look at our own lives and should ask a similar question, “What about you, self? Do you do any good?” Because this world is populated and troubled by people who are not good, life in this world causes many tears to flow. But God’s business is to dry human tears. He does it through Jesus, the One Who is Good and Does Right. Come and hear this sermon based on Jeremiah 33:14-16
