Making Friends in Christ

In the Gospels, we hear Jesus saying many suprising or unexpected things. In the lession from Luke 16:1-9 he does it again. He says that we should use our worldly wealth in such a way that we build friendships with it, and went it is spent, we shall be welcomed into eternal dwellings. He, of course, did this perfectly for us: he shed his holy blood, which is beyond worth, so that all who believe in him are declared to be friends of God, without having earned such grace. So all who believe are led to do as Jesus did, in thanks for his grace. We love because he loved us first.
